Pit Bull Cherry Lime Energy Drink Review

Pit Bull Cherry Limes can is a much needed revision of their original design. While the font used for the cherry lime is far too large, the bright neon colours look great against the black. One of my grips with Pit Bulls first can that hasn't been changed is the name, but thankfully, it's the only remaining problem. But since the name has remained the same, the lack of a pit bull on the can makes it now seem pointless, so my advice to the company would be to keep the can and toss the name for something else, albeit something fitting.

Pouring out a florescent pink, Pit Bull Cherry Lime is clear and smells fairly candy-like. Taste-wise, the flavour doesn't lean towards either the cherry or the lime, but instead they're blended seamlessly, creating a smooth and intriguing experience. The cherry is the initial flavour focus, that's sweet enough to be likened to a maraschino cherry, but avoids being overly sweet or syrupy. This section of the flavour is purely cherry, with no notes or hints underlying or trailing behind. The cherry is rather simple and sort lived, which I guess is good as it allows ample time for the lime. Where as the cherry was sweet, the lime is appropriately sour. The sourness isn't blunt or sharp, and the lime itself is mellow and doesn't quite taste natural. The experience ends with a steady rise of sourness that abruptly crashes, and like the can says, there's no aftertaste. The carbonation is light and bubbly, and doesn't interfere, nor really enhance the experience. Overall, the flavour is crisp, refreshing, and is a more than worthy successor to Pit Bull Original.

The kick to Cherry Lime was far less impressive than its taste, but it still did a decent job at providing several hours of energy; I'd say about three hours. Sadly, though, it did end in a crash. The energy cocktail is: several B vitamins, taurine, caffeine(160mg), guarana, and ginseng. In the end, Pit Bull Cherry Lime successfully improved most of the shady areas of the original, and kept the tradition of a truly impressive flavour.

I have tried quite a few of the flavors and Cherry Lime is my favorite so far. It is nice that is an energy drink but with a flavor that good I would drink it just for the taste.
