Sea2O Energy Drink Review

Sea2O is the third caffeine free energy drink I've come across, and its name puzzles me. Sea2O? Whats that mean? Well, I have no clue, as not only does it not sound fitting for an energy drink, I really can't think of anything that it would sound fitting for. Its can utilizes a base colour of white, with no pattern outside the blue and green swoosh cupping the logo. This results in a plain and rather boring can that, like its name, is wholly unfitting for an energy drink. And while it thankfully has been updated according to its web site, I'm not reviewing the newer can design, as I only have the older one.

Sea2O pours out a non-carbonated murky yet dull yellowish colour that vaguely resembles sea water. Its taste begins a light blend between lemon and melon, with their level of sweetness hush, and both having an oracular tartness that ends abstrusely though unpleasantly earthy. There's a bit of a pulpy thickness noticeable as the flavour continues, and out of the thickness grows an equal part lime and pear cross that's both hazy and unsweetened. The prior is quickly restrained and almost entirely erased by a reappearance of the initial fruits, this time with slightly stronger accent on sweetness. But as suddenly as it appeared it's subdued by a spice climax of ginger that finishes the taste. The ginger itself isn't very full bodied, but it's potent enough to cleanly end the experience. Overall, Sea2O's flavour is easy on your palate and sips with incredible smoothness; pair that with an enjoyable taste and you've got yourself a product that I'd drink just for it...

... which may be the only reason to drink Sea2O, as kick wise, there really wasn't any. The thirty two grams of agave sugar perked me up more sustained than your typical table sugar, but it's nothing but an insult to your usual kick. In each can you've got seaweed, vitamin C, vitamin B6, inulin fiber and agave, and while several are strange, most would go great along with some more conventional ingredients. All in all, perhaps if it called itself a fiber drink then I may would of been able to give it a passing grade, but then again, if it was a fiber drink, then why would I review it? Ultimately, Sea2O is nothing more than a great tasting drink that doesn't know its true identity.
