Angry Angel returns with a much softer look, its baby blue coloring is not the color I feel when angry. It remains pretty unspectacular to look at, its white text rather difficult to read off of the backdrop and the name, oh my, what does it even mean?
Stevia and thirteen grams of the real sweet stuff (sugar) do a far better job with the tropical trapping than they did with Angry Angel original. There is not much of any saccharinity aftertaste fortunately, and the blend is a bit more spirited here, pushing the fruit cocktail a little harder, giving the experience a bit more of an aggressive sugariness. A myriad of produce produce a rather pleasant sip: pineapple, lime, guava, and passion fruit are the big players in every imbibe, your usual suspects sure, but making their appearance with a touch of pizazz that was not anticipated. Tartness remains the biggest card against the potable, the flavor begging for a more assertive acidity, something to balance out the stronger sweetness this time around. It is not a bad drink, but it could have been better.
The buzz is the best thing here, lasting about two hours and ending without any trace of a crash. Each can contains: B vitamins, taurine, inositol, yerba mate, and 120 milligrams of caffeine. Overall, Angry Angel Tropical has its heart in the right place and does some smart things, but the travel from can to kick is not as cohesive as it should be.
