Slap Red Tea Citrus

*start commercial mode: "From the dark depths of Portsmouth NH, comes a new breed of energy drinks, Slap Red Tea Citrus. See this monster destroy the insides of your body, give you energy and slap you upside your bitch-ass. Coming to a Big Lots near you." end commercial mode* Just having some fun there. Anyway, Slap is back with Slap red Tea Citrus, a new(er) flavour from the people at Brain Twist. The first Slap drink I reviewed, Slap Frost Energy+Sensation, was a overall good energy drink, doing nothing more than being a good energy drink, but despite that, I don't have very high hopes for Slap Red Tea Citrus, as I'm not a tea boy... nor do I know what red tea is...

FIRST IMPRESSION:
I find the can to Slap Red Tea Citrus to be above average, and is borderline good. The large hand is now giving off a red glow, which adds to its appeal compared to the original. I also like the combination of red and silver, though I'd like to see more red than silver. One complaint that I have about the can is that it is hard to figure out what the flavour is. The redness of the can and the "red" in the name say that its gonna be of the cherry variety, but the "citrus" tag says something different. This isn't something a product should say. Overall, the can is an improvement over the original, but I don't think its all too impressive.

TASTE: I opened the can and poured it in a glass. I was somewhat surprised to find that it turned out to be a clear-ish colour with some yellow hints. This is something I wouldn't expect from a "red" tea drink, but that's probably because of my lack of knowledge in tea. The flavour is also not what If expect from a tea. Slap Red Citrus starts out with some subtle lemon and lime flavours, with the tea riding in back. Then a nice level of carbonation and some light orange and tangerine finishes the flavour off. The citrus isn't sour, and the tea isn't bitter, which really surprised me and makes Slap Red Tea Citrus a smooth drink. The sweetness level is low, which I feel only adds to the flavour. Overall, a huge improvement from Slap Energy+Sensation, and is an overall interesting drink.

KICK: Each can contains: Carbonated water, Fructose, Citric Acid, Taurine, Maltodextrin, Natural Flavors, Caffeine, Green Tea Solids, Sucralose, Salt, Niacin, and Guarana Extract. This energy blend gave me a decent buzz, in terms of strength. But in terms of length, it was great. For five or so hours, my alertness was raised and had a decent amount of energy. There were no jitters and there was no crash. Overall, the kick from Slap Citrus Tea was solid.

FINAL WARD: From start to finish, I have to say that I'm pretty impressed with Slap Red Ta Citrus. The can was appealing, the taste was great, and the kick was long lasting, making Slap Red Citrus an above average energy drink and an overall fun energy drink to... drink. Though I have only reviewed two Slap energy drinks, I feel that so far Slap energy is one of the more interesting energy lines since Stoked...3.8/5
