Rip It Tribute Sugar Free Energy Drink Review

Three years since reviewing the original Rip It Tribute, the brand is back without any of the sugar. The can remains largely identical but the new white backdrop has the design looking clumsy and exceedingly difficult to read. The flavor, Active Mandarin Live Wild Lime, is another pain point, making little sense- was "Mandarin & Lime" just too simple?

The flavor has little functionality flavor, drinking more like a soda than most other energy drinks. It focuses on the sugariness of the fruits more so than any characteristic, including acidity, which is a shame. I am all for some candied renditions of classic produce, it ultimately is not done well. Nether citrus has any depth, a diet depiction that sips without much skill or motivation. But the biggest knock here is the sweetness. Ace-k and sucralose is the sham sugar system of choice, any of the potable's potential verism sundering to this lethargic saccharinity. A peppy effervescence helps distract from the underwhelming sugars, but only gets the experience so far.

There is a medium-strength kick here, lasting two and a half hours, give or take a minute or two. Ingredients include: taurine, guarana, inositol, B vitamins, vitamin C, and 160 milligrams of caffeine. In the end, Rip It Tribute Sugar Free is an inexpensive energy drink that offers very little past your usual budget beverages.
