Rumba Energy Juice Review

Rumba is the final drink of the Rumba Trilogy of energy juices, and while it cost me more than the previous drinks($2.20 compared to $.55), I bought it at a small farm stand that only sold organic soda and their own cows milk, so I guess the price is justified in that sense. Rumba's can is a bit different from others in the line, but as someone who didn't really like their cans, it's a step in the right direction. I like the lights shooting off the orange, and I feel the colours are of the correct proportion and offset each other well.

Rumba's flavour begins a pear and white grape braid wholly immersed within a thick gummy orange taste. This gives a true sense of depth and complexity to the flavour. The three fruits taste sufficiently authentic, but the orange borderlines artificial because of the stitched on gumminess. Soon the orange grows ornamented by a dense sour apple taste that complements the initial pear well. The apple has a pineapple flavour beneath, and while the actual taste is meek, it adds a sharpness trademark to the fruit. The sharpness, however, is leveled not only by the sourness of the apple, but also partly by a tangy sting of a newly appearing and evanescent tangerine. Following is an initial aspect of peach that's briskly limited by a cascade of a coarse sweetness that smears over the overall taste and gives the fluid a rough texture. The experience ends with the latter and a prominent citric bite. All in all, Rumba's taste is an all too familiar one that I enjoyed but was a bit bored with.

Caffeine(170mg), guarana, taurine, inositol, vitamin C, and several B vitamins are the highlights of Rumba's ingredient cocktail. I gradually grew a steady energy level that climaxed at the three and a half hour mark. I crashed slightly and there was no jitters. In the end, Rumba doesn't do anything to excite or disappoint fans of energy juices.

Tango Energy Juice Review

Tango is the second flavour in the Rumba line I have, and judging by the can, the one I'm the least looking forward to. While the can isn't terrible or anything, it just doesn't fit the mold of energy drinks. It's too health store like, and it doesn't even use sophistication to attract health conscious drinkers. It just ends up looking rushed and unattractive. The name "tango" is based on the popular dance, which requires energy and focus. And though in that sense the name's appropriate for an energy product, it just wouldn't of been my first choice for a name.

Tango pours out a deep sea weed green colour, which honestly surprised me. Why in the world would Hansen choose such an unsightly colour? Either way, the flavour of the odd-coloured liquid is actually quite good. Tango begins a tart and smooth blend of guava and apple, with a mild orange note trailing behind. The apple and guava braid is initially well mixed, but as time goes, they begins to separate, allowing the guava to overshadow the apple. There's notes of acai that appear before the orange, but it's too light to add any real depth. The overall sweetness gradually rises from its initial strength, but it never tastes unnatural or is too sweet. The texture gets a bit grainy as the experience goes on, but it's not terribly distracting. Overall, Hansen did a good job when formulating Tango.

Each can contains: vitamin C, caffeine, taurine, several B vitamins, guarana, inositol, and ginseng. This blend of ingredients provided the typical Hansen power; a three+ hour buzz with no jitters, and a raised alertness and energy level. All in all, despite having a ho-hum can design, Tango's overall quality is not only higher than its counter part Samba, but also higher than either of the amp Juices.

amp Mixed Berry Energy Juice Review

While amp Juice Orange failed to thoroughly impress me, I have hopes for the next flavour, Mixed Berry. Its bottle, while virtually identical to its predecessor, looks quite good. The pinkish-reddish-purplish colour scheme is appealing, though unusual, especially for a juice. But that aside, Mixed Berry's use of the design is better than Orange's.

amp Juice Berry's taste is more of what someone would expect from an orange juice then a berry juice. It's initially a subtle orange on top of a slightly grainy white grape and apple base. They all tasted natural and none of them were tart. Trailing closely behind is an artificial raspberry that's so light in strength it raises the question why the flavour label is "Mixed Berry." There's a slight pear note near the beginning of the raspberry, but it's a bit too faint to gain notice. The overall experience is fairly sweet for a juice, and that may turn some people off. There's a prominent pulpiness to Mixed Berry's body, which partially counters the slightly unnatural level of sweetness. Overall, though mislabeled, I found amp Juice Berry's flavour to be better and more balanced than Orange's.

Since amp Mixed Berry's energy formulation is identical to amp Orange, the kick was more or less the same. I had a pretty good amount of energy, and the end came after about two and a half hours. Each bottle contains: vitamin C, caffeine(120mg) several B vitamins, ginseng, vitamin E and guarana. In the end, while amp Juice Mixed Berry isn't powerful enough to replace your mourning coffee, nor does it taste good enough to replace your morning juice, it may be better than mixing the two yourself.

amp Energy Juice Orange

amp Energy Juice Orange was just recently released, and surprisingly, amp sent me samples for review. I say surprisingly because I've constantly questioned the lines quality. But what ever the reason, I'm interested to see how their first 100% juice turns out. amp Juice Orange comes in a small twelve oz. bottle, and though the text gets a bit out hand, it's generally a pleasure to look at. The decision to come in a plastic bottle instead of a can like other juices do, is a smart move, if not risky. It might look out of place among all the cans on the shelf, but at the same time, it could potentially attract the typical juice drinker.

amp Orange beings with an initial cross between orange and tangerine, with the latter being stronger. As it sits in your mouth, the tangerine does greatly weaken, allowing the orange to grow and become the dominant. There's a subtle and mildly tart pineapple undertow that appears later in the experience, and right as the end approaches, it clashes with a small amount of papaya. amp Juice Orange is constantly smooth, and despite finishing clean, it just tastes too little like your typical juice and more like Sunny D by being a bit unbalanced and watered down.

amp Juice Orange's twelve oz. bottle contains: 120mg of caffeine, several B vitamins, vitamin C, guarana, ginseng, and vitamin E. This, while being vastly more powerful than your grandma's OJ, wasn't able to create a killer buzz. Though it did last a good two and a half hours, it just wasn't notable. Overall, I feel that amp Juice Orange is like a C student in school, doing the bare minimum to pass, without doing anything to become the cream of the crop.

Samba Energy Juice

Samba is the second 100% juice energy drink I've come across, the first being awake good morning energy, and one of the three in Rumba line. I found Samba, along with Tango, at Mardens Surplus and Salvage, and a can was only $.55(including tax). Samba's can doesn't say what juice it's supposed to be, so the only way is to read the ingredient list, which is unnecessary. Because it's a juice, Hansen figured it needed to over emphasize that it's one, which ends up making the can look too health-food store for an energy drink. That couldn't of helped with sales.

Samba's taste begins with guava and apple, both combined together with a slight rough texture. Underlying the prior blend, a tart grape mixes with a sour passion fruit. Then the overall sweetness begins to rise, resulting in the liquid becoming somewhat thick. There's some notes of apricot, but they're subdued by the thick sweetness. The experience ends with a water-like finish, and there's no aftertaste. All the fruits taste very natural, and though everything is blended together well, it ends up tasting too much like a puree than a juice, which makes finishing the entire can rather difficult.

The can says it contains the same tired an true energy cocktail Hansen is famous for, and the kick is proof of it. It has all the usual ingredients; caffeine, Taurine, B and C vitamins, and guarana. Like always, the blend kicked me for a good three and a half hours, was jitter free, and ended with no crash. Overall, Samba is an interesting energy juice, but it seems like areas either had too much time spend on them, or too little.

awake good morning energy

Today I woke up and was in a rush. When I hit my alarm clock, I looked at the time and got ready as fast as I could. I had just grabbed my teeth and was brushing my pants when I almost forgot to grab an energy drink. And because I wasn't having a good morning, I chose awake good morning energy as my energy drink for the day. awake good morning energy is made by the Apple and Eve Juice company, and is called "awake good morning energy" because apparently this new thing called "juice" is supposed to help make a good morning, and awake energy is 100% juice. awake has to be the most juice energy drink I've ever reviewed, which makes sense because juice was just created yesterday.

FIRST IMPRESSION:
The can of awake does a great job at telling the customer that there buying a juicy energy drinks, but personally I think that the "100% Juice" label also works(and is overworked and under payed, but he'll never start a strike because he can't risk losing his job in these tough economic times. Five kids and a wife with foot cancer is really making him regret not going to college...). The flavour's supposedly orange tangerine, like most other juice energy drinks out there. Overall, the can, while nothing new, is unoffensive.

TASTE: I opened the can and took a sip. The flavour is best described as refreshing orange juice upfront, that quickly fades into a light tangerine flavour, that seems to be surrounded by slight apple, pineapple, and passion fruit notes. The apple is the most noticeable of the notes, followed by passion fruit, which then is overlapped by the pineapple. It goes down really smooth and really feels like you just took a sip of juice out of a carton. The flavour's really good, and it really tastes like what juice is supposed to taste like, which adds complexity and originality to it.

KICK: Each can contains: 100% of your daily intake of Vit. C, B5, B12, B6, B3, fifty% of your daily intake of Vit. A, twenty five% of your daily intake of Vit. E, eighty mg of caffeine, 125 mg of Essentra, and only 100 mg of Taurine. After I pulled myself away from the fetal position because of the lack of Taurine, I noticed that Essentra had a little "*" above it. I then hopped on a boat and was on my way to see the ancient god Buddha. When in his presence, I asked him what "Essentra" meant. He replied with a grin and his guards threw me out of his temple(and I didn't even have time to go to the gift shop...). Once I regained consciousness, I realized my head was stuck to the can. I peeled it off and took a look at the large dent I made on the can. I noticed that there was a little "*" next to the ingredients list and it said that Essentra is the trademarked name for Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha was lasted found in the horrid Frappio line. Bizarre. Overall, the kick lasted around three hours, with no jitters or twitches, just a raised alertness.

FINAL WORD: Overall, I'm generally impressed with awake good morning energy. The can, kick, and taste have all been either decent or great, something I'd never expect from a 100% juice energy drink. I can see awake being popular with health raisins, and being sold in gyms, but not so-popular with couch potato skins and coffee drinkers. I have to say that awake is one of the better tasting juice energy drinks I've ever had. All in all, I feel that awake good morning energy is a not just another pimple on the ugly energy drink market, but instead a dab of Proactiv Solution...3.7/5
