Mad Croc Power Peppermint Energy Gum Review

Mad Croc Power Peppermint comes in a small blue box that successfully achieves looking aggressive. There's quite a bit of text, with a lot being unneeded, however I don't feel it hampers the design to a significant degree. The red crocodile works well with the blue, black, and white, and although it's a name that was birthed out of Red Bull's popularity, I wholly prefer it to most other animal themed energy products.

The flavour is slow in dilating from its initial frailness, and the texture is smooth however very rubbery. The texture does becomes more pliable soon after, and while this does increase throughout the experience, the gum never felt grainy or like it was decomposing. It did, although, eventually feel stiff and firm, but this point took a while to reach. Peppermint is the obvious focal point of the flavour, and it never becomes overwhelming and instead remains refreshing and relaxed. The duration of the peppermint was actually a bit longer than I was expecting, and while its strength did decrease gradually, it took a good eight to ten minutes before the gum rendered near or completely flavourless. I personally preferred the strength of the mint up until five minutes after the first chew, as from then on I felt it was too weak to qualify much more chewing. One concern for sugar free gum is that it may have a strong artificial sweetness, and thankfully this wasn't a problem. Overall, Mad Croc Peppermint tastes much like your commonplace peppermint gum and was just as enjoyable.

According to the equation on the box, I chewed the equivalent to one sixteen oz. energy drink, which is(or at least should be), the standard size of energy drinks. My level of energy was increased at a slow and almost plodding pace, and it grew for around an hour and a half before it laid steady for another two. The time was jitter free and didn't result in a crash. Overall, Power Peppermint is an impressive followup to Mad Croc Spiked Spearmint.

Mad Croc

I'm guessing that many of you guys already know, Circuit City is going out of business, and they're liquidating there entire stock, so expecting some dirt cheap games, I stopped by, and can you imagine my surprise when I found what they call a "Stay Up All Night" gamer pack with Mad Croc Energy Gum, Mad Croc Energy Drink, and Eighty(80) Hour energy spray for little under $6. In shock of finally finding Mad Croc, I picked one up. And today I'm gonna review Mad Croc Energy Drink, manly because I've been looking for it for the longest time, but was it worth the effort...

FIRST IMPRESSION: The can is a huge improvement from there original can design. The red crocodile works well with the black and silver design with the yellow trim. Though, there are some things that bug me, for starters, the cans a little busy, there's simply too much going on. The second thing that bugs me is the lame slogan, "Energy With A Wild Bite." The third and final things that bugs me is the eight(8) oz. size. Why not sixteen(16) oz.+ sizes like every other energy drink on the market. Hell, even Red Bull had bigger sizes than this. The last time I had an energy drink this small was when I reviewed FreeFall, lets just hope that Mad Croc turns out better...4/5

TASTE: I took a sip and was hit with a sweet, and tart bubble gum flavour with a hint of vanilla in the aftertaste. Mad Croc is very smooth, making very easy to drink. There's some slight gumminess to it, but nothing over bearing. It avoids being a complete Red Bull clone, but its still got several clone elements. Overall, a decent drink, though nothing original...3.2/5

KICK: Each puny can contains: Carbonated water, sugar, dextrose, citric acid, artificial flavor, inositol, caffeine, niacin, taurine, and riboflavin. This standard mix of energy ingredients gave me a decent buzz that lasted about two(2) hours, though this may be because its much smaller than the drinks I'm used to. I really can't give the kick a low score, mainly because its small size, oh wait, I can. Overall, the buzz was under impressive, though I wasn't expecting much...2/5

FINAL WORD: Overall, I feel that Mad Croc is just a Red Bull clone in a awesome can. It wasn't the worst energy drink I've ever had, but far from the greatest. I know one(1) thing that would have helped it though, I bigger can. Why are energy drinks still being made in eight(8) oz. cans? Its like if they if they still made thirteen(13) inch TVs. Wait... they, still, do? What the...? Every things getting bigger, excluding MP3 players and patients; those are getting smaller. Either way, Mad Croc is a decent drink that would be worth sixty cents($.60) in clearance, but not much more...3/5

Mad Cock Energy Gum Spiked Spearmint

Once again, I was shopping at the Dollar Tree, when a three for a buck deal caught my eye. What was it? Is it candy? Does it even interest me? I took a closer look and found out it was it was Mad Croc energy gum. I got three flavors, citrus, spearmint, and peppermint. I'll go with reviewing "Spiked Spearmint" for now...

FIRST IMPRESSION: Now, any energy guru knows who Mad Croc is. Its an energy drink known for getting sued for there can being too similar to Red Bulls. That's will definitely give it extra points... I like the box, the red croc on green and black works pretty well. And I like the name "Spiked Spearmint", its bad ass. But one thing that bothers me, why the hell do they put "artificial flavors" on the front of the box, like someone one goes down the aisle, "oh look, artificial flavored gum, sounds like a good buy!"... 4/5

TASTE: Opening up one of the ten pieces, I find that two pieces equal an 8oz. energy drink, so one $.33 box equals five Red Bulls(caffeine wise). Not bad, nope, not bad at all. I popped two in my mouth and chewed. The gum is a nice spearmint flavor, similar to most other spearmint gum. But one bad thing, the gum dissolves after about ten minutes of chewing. But its not all that noticeable, but you know its there. The mint stays with for quite awhile, it really surprised me. Most energy gums flavors don't last to too long...4.2/5

KICK: According to their website, each servings(two pieces) contain: Sorbitol, Gum base, Maltitol, Natural and artificial flavors, Caffeine, Taurine, Maltodextrin, Sucralose, Refined glaze, Riboflavin. I was pretty surprised to find out hat its pretty much and energy drink in gum form. After chewing a couple pieces, I didn't feel at all energetic. But then I looked at the clock and found out that it was three in the morning, and I didn't feel tired. So I'm gonna say that Mad Croc energy gum Spiked Spearmint works in a subtle way...3/5

FINAL WERD: Overall, I'm gonna have to sat that I'm impressed with this product. Since this product impressed me, I'm expecting no less for the other two flavors that I bought(And I will find you Cinnamon Kick, I will.) But when you get down to it, its just gum. Though Its highly caffeinated, its still just gum. And that's all it will ever be...4/5
