Popeye Anchorin' Apple Energy Drink Review

After three years of waiting comes another variety of Popeye, a surprisingly tasty line of drinks based off of the comic strip. This time things are Anchorin' Apple, but aside from the flavor and the word "energy," the can struggles to demarcate from the brand's variants.

Seventy percent juice is a tall order and every imbibe of the lucent liquid tastes potently of the populous portion of fresh nectar. White grape and apple juice are the sole tastes, with the mystery "natural flavors" on the side of the can adding nothing but insipid intrigue. The myriad of mouthfuls this cartoon container conjures up a weight that only such a large quantity of juice offer, as well as a sourness that could pucker a lemon. But the root problem here is the flavor of apple itself; I can just go to any grocer and pick up a bottle. The brand's previous offerings, Blackberry and Clementine, won over my tongue by featuring fruits not famously sapped. I am sorry Popeye, but you will not be wining over Olive Oyl with this flavor.

Each can contains: B vitamins, vitamin C, and 160 milligrams of caffeine. The kick continues the cooler's decline into commonality, lasting two and a half hours. On the whole, Popeye Anchorin' Apple is the least interesting of the brand, no matter how well it impersonates its namesake fruit.

Popeye Clobberin Clementine Energy Drink Review

A relentless collage of comics provide respect to the cartoon great, with the "Clobberin Clementine" even visualized as a speech bubble. It is unique and grabs the consumer like no other in recent memory. But why Popeye was licensed to an energy drink is bizarre and almost imbecilic, however there is no denying that they mastered the look.

Although hardly sparkling, this seventy percent juice beverage drinks beautifully. Who knows how much of the juice is clementine, as it appears after white grape and apple, but the citrus bites each sip with unmistakable quality and perfect imitation of sinking your teeth into the mandarin orange variety. The other extracts add depth without distraction, a revivifying fruit salad thankfully without any spinach. You gulp heartily as the refreshing translucent elixir drips down your chin, sweet with honesty and tart with restraint. Though I cannot say that this is variety any better than Bruiser Blackberry, it is equally fabulous.

There is sufficing energy here, an average three hour kick that is nothing compared to Popeye after a fresh can of spinach. Each can contains: vitamin C, B vitamins, and 160 milligrams of caffeine.

Popeye Bruiser Blackberry Energy Drink Review

A fantastic homage to the spinach eating sailor, the can reads extraordinarily well despite all the comic strip commotion. But there is the unshaken question as to why Popeye is the basis for an energy drink, something expected from the lamented Boston America Corp, with their questionable Super Mario and Elvis attempts.

A seventy percentage of juice provides each sip with an unmistaken vinous quality that works well with the coarse carbonation. It bodes exceptionally well to the blackberry flavor too, as well as the less dynamic apple and white grape juices. You can hardly taste the latter, who holds the largest percent of the seventy, however the apple provides enough autumn nuance to the sovereign savor. The sweetness only emphasizes the purple brew's spirituous spirit, a understated but firm saccharinity that is a breath of fresh air amongst the hyper-honeyed drafts of usual. Overall, I would drink this again.
