DNA Lemon Lime comes in a mostly black can, with a yellow skull in a green star. Surprisingly, it has a lack of emphasis on the DNA strand behind the bare cranium. You'd expect with the name "DNA," that the can would have a scientific inspired theme, instead of the No Fear-type look used. Either way, the design is still simple without being empty, and is aggressive without overemphasizing it.
A light, almost grainy lime begins the flavour, with its sweetness being more defiant and brazen than its sourness, resulting in it having a confection-like quality. Then there's a quiet birth of lemon that slowly rises, aiding the lime in feeling complete and finished. The strength of the lemon is quite weak for the classic billed flavour, making a more appropriate flavour indication being just lime. There's a fairly strong background sweetness that off sets a gradual tartness, thus rendering it nonchalant and lackadaisical. Nearing the end of the experience, there's a cross between pineapple and melon, with the pineapple existing purely to sharply spike the flavour, and it's quickly consumed by the melon. Despite the use of HFCS, there wasn't an enamel of sickly sweetness left once the liquid is swallowed. Like its soda counterpart, the actual flavour is smooth to sip and not very complex, however, unlike its soda counterpart, DNA Lemon Lime isn't syrupy and is finely crafted and well developed.
DNA Lemon Lime delivered a rather potent and impressive kick. Thanks to caffeine(200mg), taurine, folate, several B vitamins, inositol, and guarana, I was full of jitters, and I had a steady level of energy. There was a bit of a crash after around four hours, which wasn't very surprising. In the end, while its can suffers from a bit of an identity crisis, DNA Lemon Lime tasted great and had a good buzz to back it up.
