Rocket Chocolate Coffee Mocha Review

Immature images and plebeian text make for an energy candy that is hard to take seriously. It does not appear to take itself seriously either, nor does mind just how unmemorable the tiny packaging is. Its small size is also inconvenient, because if the chocolate taste is to be any good, you are going to want a more generous portion.

The candy crunches into an explosion of sweet shrapnel, appropriately chocolaty but only adopting bitterness from the coffee. It lingers on after whether you take your time or pop the whole thing in your mouth, an unnatural and unwanted astringency. The confection is hard but melts with even success, however the candy as a whole could benefit from something stronger of a sweetness. As it is, the mocha artifice goes untasted and the coffee gimmick offers only misguided characteristics; an experience that flounders when compared to other energy chocolates.

There is only about forty or so milligrams of caffeine, which one serving alone is hardly stimulating. In the end, as the one of the few remaining varieties of Star Buzzer's Rocket Chocolate, my interest in the brand is practically dead.

Rocket Chocolate Chocolate Mint Review

Gold and green are decent enough on the eyes, especially the shine of the former, however rocket colored of the latter struggles to make much of an impact. Another criticism is just how blurry it is- oh wait, that is just the photo I took.

Mint does the bar wonders, an otherwise stock chocolate taste brought to new heights thanks to the inclusion. The candy thaws into a gooey liquor that hits all the right notes, enough sweet and without any bitterness. Cocoa butter and coconut oil are the fatties here, the former providing a richer mouthfeel while the latter renders the piece liquid with only the slightest source of heat. The texture melts rather waxy however, and the treat grows cloying with several, but the simple fact that I could eat several is something.

A quaint quantity of forty plus milligrams of caffeine fails to stimulate, requiring another candy or at least something else to get you through the day. On the whole, Rocket Chocolate Chocolate Mint exceeded my expectations, my very low expectations.

Rocket Chocolate Raspberry Review

Difficult to photograph like children (especially when you do not want the parents to notice), Rocket Chocolate Raspberry top gold trim looks like my hair in the morning. But the reddish pink of the packaging is uninspired and resembles other varieties far too much.

Raspberry chocolate has never been a favorite, however the harmonious fruitiness seems to mask the line's trademark bitter aftertaste. There is enough cocoa flavor to the sweet creaminess of this easily melted treat, however it would be brazenly out of place among the offerings of a gourmet chocolatier.

Forty one milligrams of caffeine is enough, when you have three or four of the free samples sent to you. The kick lasts four hours from that, and lessens down to an hour if only one is had. In the end, Rocket Chocolate Raspberry is decent even to one usually unimpressed with raspberry chocolates, and is easily the best Star Runner yet.

Ginseng Jubilee Review

Compared to the company's related brand of Rocket Chocolates, Ginseng Jubilee's packaging is less childish and feel more polished. It is still a distinctly vintage appearance, and although its logo is a size too big, you would have a hard time not noticing it.

For a chocolate cherry truffle without any cherries, Ginseng Jubilee is quite good. The chocolate melts into a rich paste tasting faintly of maraschino cherry, a decedent imitation that fools the tongue with its impressive realism and slight tartness. Unlike its sister Rocket Chocolates, there is (lamentably) no caffeine and (thankfully) no bitterness resultingly, crafting a silky experience that is as divine as an energy chocolate can be.

Caffeine free, the candy only contains ginseng (hence its name). The kick was practically non-existent, with no noticeable rise in energy or jitters to prove its existence. In the end, Ginseng Jubilee is a tasty distraction, but those seeking milk chocolate and caffeine should look towards Awake.

Rocket Chocolate Peppermint Crunch Review

Pink is a color who constantly struggles on energy products. It is no different here, and while the gold trim is a nice touch and although the stripes relate the wrapper successfully to a candy-cane, it just is nothing special to look at.

With actual peppermint oils, this Rocket Chocolate preforms quite decently. The thick brick does not crunch but rather crumbles before melting, a cream with a slight caffeine note. It is far more palatable than any varieties prior, but the chocolate itself is still painfully second rate. Dollar Tree sells higher quality chocolates, and is impressive only when compared to previous varieties.

There is not much energy to be had with just one, powered solely by forty two milligrams of caffeine. The buzz clocked in at less than an hour, its strength preforming middlingly. Overall, this Peppermint Crunch variety of Rocket Chocolate is more ambitious than awesome.

Rocket Chocolate Peanut Butter Review

The red is less overwhelming than was the brown of the company's English Toffee Latte variety, but the diminutive wrapper is as boring as ever. The rocket is a bit more defined here, but that is not a good thing considering it is wildly out of place on something caffeinated.

The texture may be surprisingly soft, but there is little peanut butter or chocolate to taste. By containing no actual ground nuts and only artificial flavoring, you struggle alone with the cheap taste of low-quality chocolate and the burn of caffeine. There is coconut oil however, giving the bar a mushy presence that melts unrealistically and without satisfaction. A chaser is required thanks to the everlasting bitterness of the stimulant, however it helps little to lighten the bitter bite. Overall, I have had better energy chocolates before, none part of this line.

Each piece contains only caffeine, approximately forty two milligrams, and from one the buzz lasts an unimpressive hour or so. On the whole, Starbuzzer's Rocket Chocolate Peanut Butter disappoints even when no expectations were held.

Rocket Chocolate English Toffee Latte Review

Not especially enticing to the eyes, Rocket Chocolate English Toffee Latte simply feels too amateurish and childish for something caffeinated. Its dotted packaging is decidedly retro, and thanks to its name feels obligated to sport a rocket.

The chocolate log breaks well to the teeth, and the solid structure softens successfully in one's mouth. There are chopped almonds which give interesting snap to each of the very few bites, all of which are followed closely with caffeine's infelicitous and inescapable bitterness. Another nibble from the brown box temporarily censors this, but even a chaser struggles to silence the chemical astringency. When not acridly irritating your palate however, the chocolate is not even that good, comparable to a Hershey's Bar at best, a Palmer knockoff at worst. Overall, I am not terribly impressed with my first Star Buzzer's product.

The wrapper mumbles "twice the caffeine" and "boosts like a cup of coffee," but the interweb claims that each candy contains a modest forty one point seven milligrams. Regardless as to how much it has, the buzz received lasted only about two hours. It hit me hard though, quickly soothing my lust for the stimulant. In the end, with numerous Rocket Chocolate flavors available, let us just hope that only their English Toffee Latte variety is rotten.
