One line of energy drinks that I recently started drinking is the Euphoric Energy line. I could only find the Pomegranate/Passion fruit, Lemon Lime, and the Banana/Strawberry(yes, a banana/strawberry energy drink) varieties, and out of those I've only reviewed Lemon Lime, so when I looked in my fridge today, I figured it was time to review another Euphoric Energy, and because Banana/Strawberry doesn't sound very appetizing, I had no choice but to review the Pomegranate/Passion fruit. I haven't reviewed many pomegranate energy drinks, but the ones I have had been decent to great, so I have some unfair expectations for Euphoric Energy Pomegranate/Passion fruit. Lets see how it turns out...
FIRST IMPRESSION: The can to Euphoric Pomegranate/Passion Fruit, I feel, is only decent. While I do like the the subtle velvet-looking design on the can, the name's too long and hard to say. Why Euphoric Energy? Why not something short and common like Atom Energy? That rolls off the tongue better and everyone knows how to say "atom," while many could have trouble saying "Euphoric"...3/5
TASTE: I opened the can and took a sip. The flavour is best described as sweet pomegranate, which lingers around in your mouth for a while until it fades into more of a passion fruit flavour. It's not too tart, something that's either a plus or a minus depending on who you are. The transition from pomegranate to passion fruit is very well played, almost seeming the way mother nature intended it to taste like. The flavours easily one of the best pomegranate energy drinks I've ever had. Overall, an impressive flavour from Euphoric Energy...4.4/5
KICK: Each can contains: citric acid, Vitamin B12, sodium, potassium, ginseng, damiana, inositol, maca root, 1200mg of Taurine, and 140mg of Caffeine. This blend of ingredients gave me only a decent buzz, which consisted of a mildly raised alertness and minorly increased energy. This lasted for around three hours or so, so while it's definitely not a powerful drink, it's still better than some out there...3/5
FINAL WORD: Overall, I feel that Euphoric Pom/Passion wasn't just another get rich quick kind of energy drink, but a well thought out, finely crafted drink. While I can't say I'm terribly impressed with Euphoric Pom/Passion by terms of the can or kick, I can praise the flavour for being a unique approach to the standard pomegranate flavour. All in all, a decent overall drink from the people at Euphoric Energy...3.5/5
