Alani Nu Sour Peach Rings Energy Drink Review

Everyone know what time it is? That is right, Caffeine King is proud to present another Alani Nu review!

Well, "proud" is probably a stretch, but the brand is at least always interesting, if not always any good. The entry today is "Sour Peach Rings," joining the ranks of Rockstar Marshmallow and G Fuel Ragin' Gummy Fish as inexplicable "candy" inspired beverages. Problem with Alani Nu is that is does not fit the expectations from the company, with other varieties raging from Mimosa to Hawaiian Shaved Ice- well, I suppose there is some mild alliteration with the latter, but nevertheless, what the hell does it have to do with energy drinks?

It is sour, and it does taste like peach candy. There you go, there is the review. Of course I could just leave it there, but we believe in full-service criticisms around here. It is true that the liquid inside the thin aluminum walls is in fact acidic, it never approaches the level of tartness one anticipates from candy, losing ground as soon as you take your first sip to the sweetness. There is no real sugar here of course, the saccharinity delivered by our old pals sucralose, ace-k and erythritol. They are up to the challenge of the sweetmeat assumptions, departing from the palate without any artificial grossness, but there is more to candy than simply "being" sweet. Full-calorie sugar provides a mouthfeel so sorrowfully missing here, causing mouthfuls to feel confused and incomplete. It is not bad mind you, but I was promised candy, and dang it I want all that comes with candy, both the good and the bad!

Potency remains the most dependable characteristic from the line, a three hour long buzz that is both clean and quick acting. 200 milligrams of caffeine is to thank, with other ingredients including: taurine, ginseng, B vitamins, guarana, and inositol, of course in no particular order. On the whole, Alani Nu Sour Peach Rings will not replace that little pouch of sour peach ring candies in your heart.
