Nerd Zero Calorie Energy Drink Review

Nerd Zero Calorie's can is only a simple colour change different from its full sugared brother, but that's enough for it to lose some of its appeal. Some, not all. The can still looks good, but I much prefer the green on black than the blue on black. My biggest problem with the can is that it's hard to tell that this is the sugar free version of Nerd. By looking at the can, most caffeine connoisseurs would already know that it's sugar free, given its colour, but to the untrained drinker, they may not notice the small "0 Calories" bubble towards the top. My favorite thing about the can is that on the back it says, "product not affiliated with Wonka Nerds Brand." It's not only humorous, but it makes you wonder why there isn't a caffeinated Nerd Candy. I'd love to be trick or treating and get a box of caffeine coated Nerds Candy!

Nerd 0 pours out a rather vibrant lime green that's almost opaque, if not cloudy. It begins a smooth and slightly chalky lime, with strong notes of honeydew melon. There's a subtle sweet tart taste undertone to the prior flavour, and it's more tart than sweet. Then there's a slight rise in carbonation, and hidden inside that rise is a faint blend of sweet orange and lemon, with the orange dominating the placid braid. There's a more prominent a bite in Nerd 0 than there was in Nerd regular, but it's still rather light. The bite is clean with a mild level of sweetness and a hint chalkiness. Overall, Nerd 0 tastes very similar to its calorie ridden counter part; so much so that I really don't see a reason to drink Nerd Original when you can drink this.

Nerd 0 has the same energy blend its predecessor had, thus creating the same modest buzz. For approximately two hours, I had a decent amount of energy, and no jitters. I did feel a bit more focused than I originally was, but it wasn't something truly worth mentioning. This was a result of: caffeine(120mg), DMAE, huperzine, several B vitamins, ginseng, taurine, vinpocetine, ginko, inositol, l-carnitine, and guarana. All in all, Nerd 0 is pretty much the same product that Nerd Original was, but with out all the unnecessary calories, this is the Nerd you want to buy.
