International Delight Caramel Macchiato Light Iced Coffee Review

Wow! Hey now, stop pouring, it is gonna overflow! And ruin the caramel candies I like ta eat with ma raw coffee beans! In all seriousness though, this is a pretty good idea, what seems to be a refined version of Maxwell House's 90's refrigerated catastrophe. They are fortunate in that there is no brand to ruin here, at least in the name of coffee, as anyone who knows, let alone appreciates, the actual taste of coffee would never touch this 100 calorie beverage (although the same could be said about Maxwell House).

A mild brown color with a sweet scent, this Caramel Macchiato flavor is thin on the palate with the taste of burnt sugar and bitter coffee. It is super saccharine but is quickly cloying, a sugariness with a artificial note that does not play well with the charred caramel counterfeit and pungent brew. There is enough creaminess for a coffee, but the bevy of skimmed milk and minority of cream crafts a texture and fattiness so unsatisfying that you wish that there were just a few more calories, from more cream that is. I have had energy coffees far worse than our introduction to the International Delight brand, but at least they were small eight or sixteen ounce cans; not half gallon cartons!

This is not much of an energy drink, but is iced coffee nonetheless, so I guess people will be drinking glasses full this summer (more like choking down). There is approximately fifty six milligrams per eight ounces, and obviously the more you drink the better buzz you receive. For me, a serving ran me two plus hours, jitter free and without crash. Overall, International Delight Caramel Macchiato Light is four bucks of bad taste.
