...lost Perfect 10 has got to be the most expensive energy drink I've ever bought at Big Lots at a whopping $.70. Unbelievable. Awhile a go, I reviewed the original ...lost and was mildly impressed, so trying another ...lost flavor wasn't at the top of my list. But time has caught up with me and now its time for me to review another ...lost product.
FIRST IMPRESSION: Like ...lost before it, the can to ...lost Perfect 10 is crazy good. There's giant hands holding Saturn that doubles as a bomb, half naked girls, sheep, and skulls covering the can. While the can is kick ass, it falls for the same trap many other lo-cal energy drinks fall for by making the can a light blue colour. Why is that? It seems that all sugar free energy drinks are either light blue or white. Bawls Guarana Exxtra, rip it Power Sugar Free, RockStar Sugar Free, Ace Lo-Cal, and Aftershock Sugar Free all have either a while or light blue colour. But besides that, the can has a strong urban appeal and that alone is probably enough to keep sales going.
TASTE: I opened the can and took a sip. The flavor is best described as a Red Bull clone with a light tartness that seems to be detectable in the beginning. Then an artificial sweetener taste grows while a quick citrus zing ends the flavour. When ice cold, the after taste from the artificial sweeteners is much less noticeable than when its warm. Overall, the taste isn't too bad, and is actually drinkable.
KICK: Each can contains: Carbonated water, glucose, citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, taurine, potassium sorbate, caffeine, sucralose, inositol, niacinamide, riboflavin, panax ginseng, L-carnitine, and guarana seed extract. This potent mix gave me a pretty impressive kick. Four four+ hours, I was all excited, full of energy and had noticeable jitters.
FINAL WERD: Overall, ...lost Perfect 10 is a decent stab at a drinkable lo-cal energy drink, that does some things right, but at the same time does some things wrong. The taste was decent, but the can and kick make up for it. I really don't like reviewing sugar free, lo-cal, or diet energy drinks, as none of them seem to be revolutionary. So, from now on, I will no longer consider lo-cal, sugar free, diet energy as full energy drinks, but instead 3/5th of an energy drink. This will suit the south, the people who want diet energy drinks as full energy drinks, and the north, the people who don't want diet energy drinks to count as energy drinks...3.1/5
