Although Adina Double Xxpresso is not marketed as an energy coffee(anymore), it does provide a heaping 150mgs of caffeine and comes in a can that would be fitting saying "energy coffee." The design itself is simple and clean, with no crazy or distracting patterns. However, there's a bit too much text, especially when it comes down to the fact that it's a coffee. It mentions that in almost every line of writing, whether it reads "brew," "espresso," or "coffee." Smack dab in the middle of the can is an Aztec-style face that's actually kinda intimidating. But somehow it's appropriate even though the rest of the design doesn't go for the same look.
Adina Double Xxpresso has a much stronger coffee aroma than most other highly caffeinated coffees I've had. Upon first sip, the liquid held in your mouth is tasteless, but as it slowly travels closer to being swallowed, a fairly deep and highly realistic coffee taste looms in. The Colombian coffee taste has a pleasant bitterness that's offset marginally by a semi milky vanilla taste. The coffee itself has a mild orange note wholly wrapped within the latter. The milkiness adds a touch of smoothness, but it doesn't taste like it really is two percent, as there's a distinct wateriness to the flavour body. The vanilla taste is weak, unsweetened, and borderline bland. The experience is softly acidic and has a slightly syrupy finish, and remaining lining your mouth afterward is a faint creaminess. Overall, Adina Xxpresso's flavour is similar to most energy coffee's I've come across, but the coffee taste itself is more refined that most others, even if it starts off slow.
Like I said before, Double Xxpresso credits itself as nothing more than a coffee, and with nothing but caffeine and guarana, the crediting is justified. However, the caffeine content is a nice 150mgs, which makes this more potent than most energy drinks per oz. I had a subtle and steady rise of energy, with jitters occurring mildly. The buzz lasted three hours until I crashed slightly. Overall, if I saw Adina Double Xxpresso on store shelves, I would consider spending two or so dollars on it, but if it came in a sixteen oz. can than that possibility would be much greater.
