G Fuel Tetris Blast Energy Drink Review

Why is Tetris the basis for an energy drink? What flavor could "Tetris Blast" be? These are unknowns until one buys and drinks a can, and a shrink wrapped one at that. But it is ok; it visually encapsulates the video game with bright colors and, perhaps more importantly, those ever-famous block shapes.

Cotton candy, perhaps the only favor that makes sense here, was an initial surprise upon first sip. It is mostly a generic tutti fruitti facsimile, but blend of sucralose and ace-k bring only the benefits of diet sugars and leave the artificial aftertaste obligation behind. But the biggest shock comes at the climax of an imbibe, a pleasant "Sweet Tart" candy taste. And although this adds sugariness to an already saccharine experience, it introduces a critical element, a powdery tartness. This right here makes the drink a joy to consume, as gulp after gulp tickled the back of my throat with effervescent feathers.

Potency remains the most impressive element to the brand, with 300 milligrams of caffeine provide a solid three and a half hour long kick. Other ingredients include b vitamins, vitamin c, amino acids, and extracts. In the end, Tetris Blast is the best G Fuel to date, which simultaneously says a lot and not much.

Shock Wave Blue Rush Sugar Free Energy Drink Review

Shock Wave Blue Rush Sugar Free.... wow, what a mouthful! Its can is textured and depicts the familiar blue and silver swirl, as we have seen in the past. The text presents itself as the transport's biggest issue; at least three fonts, inconsistent italicization, capitalization, and general loquaciousness.

Sparkling effervescence tickles the fun flavor of cotton candy-sweet blue raspberry, a powdery sapor naively simple; every sip is unpretentious and chaste, drinking as any cheap, childish thrill should. There is an insipid acidity present to this neon blue beverage, unfortunately mellow for a credulous potation. Ace-k and sucralose do the sugaring here, achieving the lusted zero calories, but at the expense of a more saccharin experience; each imbibe lacks the extreme saccharinity passioned for the innocent inspiration, and the weight is uncharacteristically gossamer. Blue Rush is an inexpensive potable, one also good on the waistline, however, too many corners were cut in too many places.

Each can contains: B vitamins, inositol, ginseng, and 160 milligrams of caffeine. It is a weak buzz, lasting two hours; a most generic kick. In the end, Shock Wave Blue Rush Sugar Free is decent considering its inexpensiveness. Any more expensive, and it would be less decent.

Adrenaline Shoc Cotton Candy Energy Drink Review

These newfangled "workout" energy drinks, you know, the ones that insinuate that exercise and excess caffeine really do mix, are a confusing bunch. Despite being sugar free, they often feature flavors based on foods that are, well, pretty much all sugar. Adrenaline Shoc is a line of this soft drink genre, and today's drink is "Cotton Candy." Its can is stoic and proud, but seems to think that the fairy floss favorite comes in only one color; obviously, they have never seen the teeth-rotting treat in its real world habitat.

There is something wrong here. No, not the aforementioned dichotomy of sweet inspirations and diet reality, but instead something that rears its ugly, unpleasant head with every imbibe. My tongue determined after a few investigational imbibes its origin, the potable's vanilla intent. A key characteristic to the experience, it is criminally undersweetened despite the drink's sucralose and ace-k involvement. This duo is disinterested in combatting its chemical cocktail of amino acids and caffeine, instead allowing for a metallic sting to remain on the palate well after you swallow the mildly effervescent elixir. All these aberrations distract from the actual cotton candy, which also includes an indeterminate blend of berries. If I were a betting man, I would herald the engagement of blue and raspberries, but who knows? I certainly cannot tell, and frankly, I am not too beat up about it.

Your body should expect a three and a half hour long buzz, thanks to all the aforesaid supplements. Other ingredients include B vitamins, electrolytes, guarana and yerba mate extract. To end, Adrenaline Shoc should leave cotton candy to the confectioners.

bang Rainbow Unicorn Energy Drink Review

Rainbow Unicorn makes no sense as an energy drink flavor; the back of the can makes no mention as to what it is actually supposed to taste like, and internet searches are futile for an official response. What gives? The can's carnival color scheme underplays its potency- there is 300 milligrams of caffeine here, and the aluminum walls are painted like a child's spun sugar. Of course kids should not drink this, so what gives?

Watermelon is the big player here, produce presented predominately oversweet with little variation outside tasting like diet sugars. Sucralose and ace-k are the synthetic honeys on display today, an unsuccessful waltz in rescuing palates from becoming scorched with the medicinal temper of not only the throng of supplements but also these two artificial sweeteners in command. But the creative energy is not found in the individual flavors, but rather what is paired together here. Your tongue can spot not only blueberry but also cotton candy and bubble gum; its unorthodox organization of elements make for a unique, not enjoyable, experience. Acidity is a bit player here, a sourness that has a sharp dairy or even almost protein tang to it. This tartness is diluted by the omnipresent emptiness of calories, but your more relaxed imbiber will no doubt notice this minor awkwardness.

The Bang buzz is back, that fabulous four hour buzz that is the real reason to consume the brand. Ingredients include: caffeine (300 milligrams), B vitamins, vitamin C, creatine, and Q10. To end, Rainbow Unicorn's unbridled sense of flavor exploration makes it the most commendable Bang yet, even if it is not quite drinkable.

Rockstar XDurance Smashed Blue Energy Drink Review

I do not love the Rockstar line, hell, often their drinks downright suck, but they take risks you do not see Red Bull or Monster taking; sometimes they are brazenly self-cannibalizing. Now on store shelves sits XDurance Smashed Blue, a super-caffeinated and probably blue raspberry flavored diet drink, is one of the company's better visual offerings, refreshing the long-in-the-tooth look with a honeycomb background and non-symmetrical design.

Cotton candy, bubble gum and blue raspberry take center stage at this Rockstar rockshow, a completely unnatural tasting experience loaded with feigned fruit flavors and an artificial sugariness  so potent you would swear you are sucking on those little blue, pink and yellow packets on a coffee shop's counter (though technically this can contains just the yellow packet- and whatever color satchel ace-k comes in). Drinking like something created by a twelve year old who spends too much time outside ye olde candy store, Smashed Blue is overwhelmingly fake on the palate, from sweetness to flavors, every aspect is an assault on your senses. There is hardly any acidity, which could have cut through the paralyzing saccharinity- even the effervescence is at home bring just enough bubbles to justify the "lightly carbonated" declaration on the bottom of the can.

Each can contains a rock-solid 300 milligrams of caffeine, giving more than enough kick and almost justifying the rather rotten taste. Other ingredients include B vitamins, taurine, carnitine, creatine, and arginine. On the whole, Rockstar XDurance Smash Blue is a far more enjoyable beverage than any of the Bang drinks, despite similar four hour long kicks, and is 100% drinkable- which is exactly what I want in my energy drinks.

Bang Cotton Candy Energy Drink Review

Another Bang another day, I suppose, this time Cotton Candy flavored. Its can suffers from the same misfires as the earlier Sour Heads variety did, with a largely boring black can and a sterile design. Sure, it is easy to read and all, but at what cost?

Well, it certainly tastes like cotton candy, for better or worse. It has that familiar blue raspberry and vanilla flavor down to a "t," with its sweetness and almost powdery mouthfeel allowing passive sips to resemble the spun sugar confection. What works particularly well, if not surprisingly, is the saccharinity; sure, it is purely synthetic, but the sham sugars, the familiar cocktail of sucralose and ace-k, lack the weight of true carbohydrates, giving every sip an airy, weightless texture that bodes oh so well to the novelty taste. Still, sixteen ounces is a lot to stomach for such a gimmicky flavor, and unless you are a professional energy drink critic, you probably will not finish an entire can.

Each can contains: creatine, B vitamins, coenzyme Q10, vitamin C and 300 milligrams of caffeine. The buzz here is rocking, lasting around three and a half hours, with some jitters- surprising, considering the lack of sugar. On the whole, Bang Cotton Candy is a peculiar drink, and if I used both thumbs, one would be up with the other the other way.

Sinister Original Energy Drink Review

This crackling can leaves quite a bit of dead space for such a "sinister" drink. Too much room is dedicated to the banal bright blue up top, and both fonts suffer from opposite misfortunes. The actual name of the drink is infamously problematic to read (there was a long time where the first 'i' read 't'), and the rest of the text lacks any creativity and is wildly generic.

Is this a Red Bull clone? Not quite, but it certainly is not very good. 260 calories breaks your wasteline in a drink ever too sweet, tasting of blue raspberries and cotton candy. The fruit has vague blueberry nuance in a feeble attempt at depth, but nothing in any sip ever resembles nature; hell, even real cotton candy is not this saccharine! But the velvety carbonation stimulates large gulps against all reason; I sat here repulsed at the sugar vulgarity only to finish the can expeditiously, lusting another. Guilty pleasure? This certainly fits the bill.

Each can contains: taurine, ginseng, B vitamins and 159 milligrams of caffeine. The kick lasted around two hours, littered with jitters and one heck of an old school crash.

Pac-Man Power Up Energy Drink Review

Shrink wrapped with a cheap design, this bizarre Pac-Man vendible ran me two bucks. Purchased out of pity instead of purpose, this inappropriately childish label is clean and easy to read, but looks hastily made without interest. And actually, it resembles the third game by Namco more than any other.

This blue bubbly beverage has a blue raspberry and bubble gum taste. There is some sourness to the fruit and super sweetness from the other, fantastically false flavors in this innocent energy drink. The tartness demonstrates a surprising ounce of depth with deadened red rasp and cranberry nuances. But that about makes up every sip in only a few brief sentences, an otherwise ineffective experience brought to higher grounds thanks to its refreshingly simple and unassuming balance of tastes.

We have caffeine, taurine, guarana, inositol, guarana, and B6 and 12 vitamins present, providing the kick standard of eight ounces, perhaps weaker. There was an absence of jitters and no crash, but the strength was mediocre and lasted only an hour or so.

Killer Buzz Zilch Energy Drink Review

Different if not somewhat more humorous text on its side and a swap from green to blue: and we have all that is new from the original Killer Buzz variety. The baby shade of the aforementioned colour and the bare aluminum makes the can look a bit too obviously low calorie, but the two are balanced between the black, and the latter keeps the drink looking like a serious energy drink.

Though a Red Bull clone was wholly anticipated, the flavour is pleasantly more unique, albeit probably just because it deviates partially from the negative expectations. There is still the trademark cotton candy taste, however here it is descried alone from the usual suspects with an impressive sham sweetness and tangy tartness. The fairy floss flavour has a halcyon hue of blueberry, an uncomplicated savour that flourishes within the excited sugariness despite its quietude. Overall, while not the most original flavour, it tastes good enough and has just enough of a personality.

The buzz is of standard strength, lasting four or so hours with no crash. Each can contains: caffeine(200mg), taurine, B vitamins, inositol, and a plethora of amino acids. All in all, Killer Buzz Zilch is a well-rounded energy drink that will not make you round.

Hydrive Blue Raspberry Energy Drink Review

Radiant blue colouring that doesn't entirely blur the fluid, Hydrive Blue Raspberry, also called S Formula, comes in a visually pleasant container. The darker hue of the aforementioned colour meshes well with both it and the occasionally used yellow, and the latter two really give the normally boring graphic, that houses the logo, some excitement and vibrancy.

Hydrive Blue Raspberry begins overtly sweet, but thankfully the flavour calls for and works well with the high sugariness. Initially bland, the liquid quickly becomes promptly tinted of the alleged flavour, and this complexion soon intensifies to a positive level. The saccharinity is lessened slightly with the introduction of the prior, but as the addition grows expeditiously, it births a distinct grainy characteristic. The blue raspberry is more candied than many previous fruits within the line have been, however the flavour still retains a decent degree of authenticity. Tartness, along with the oft mentioned sweetness, breath natural distinguishing into the raspberry, but with the unrefined texture following in sequence, the fruit gradually resembles cotton candy that's flavoured by the namesake taste. The latter section of the experience resists much depth and is wholly simple and one dimensional, however it's acceptable considering how cotton candy is on its own. Overall, with a flavour that cleanly and cleverly combined both authentic and honeyed tastes, Hydrive Blue Raspberry is an extremely enjoyable extension of an already enjoyable line.

The kick lasted two and a half hours, and there wasn't jitters felt during such time nor was their a subsequent crash. Each bottle contains: caffeine(145mg), taurine, ginkgo, L-carnitine, and several B vitamins. All in all, Hydrive Blue Raspberry does as much right as any within the line before it, but I'd personally rank this variety up with the best the company has put out.

Endorush Blue Razz Fix Energy Drink Review

At a local grocery store, Endorush Blue Razz Fix sits among the regular energy drinks, despite being quite visually different from them. Other than price(which is $2.99), one of the first things you notice is the odd sixteen oz. bottle, opposed to the traditional can, and this gives it an extreme supplement sort of look. But the bottle's wide red background and the absence of any graphical design creates a boring look for the drink, and other than the fairly cool font the main logo uses, Endorush looks much less intimidating that I would expect.

The scent of unmade Jello fills your nose when Endorush's cap is removed, and upon first taste the flavour begins obviously artificial, with an initial chemical sharpness that directly leads to a much more pleasant candy blue raspberry taste, who's appropriately tart and slightly sour. The fruit is saccharine with little actual falseness to taste within the sugariness, but soon a cloying cotton candy flavour arrives. And although the earlier chemical quality hollows once the raspberry appears, the new flavour accession brings its own, albeit a weaker and thus more palatable, chemical taste. The cotton candy is actually a quite vibrant flavour that acts almost like a shot of excitement into the arm of the raspberry, and it remains halfway abyssal to it and it trails entirely. The cotton candy influenced raspberry has basin notes of a confection cherry and a red grape, and the former domineers slightly over the latter. No carbonation naturally implies the ease of sipping, and aside from the mild chemical taste, the fluid is just that. Overall, the taste was similar to that of Engage Blue Raspberry, however I much prefer the more complex and ardor taste of Endorush Blue Razz.

Each bottle of Endorush Blue Razz contains: caffeine(170mg), taurine, several B vitamins, and a whole variety of miscellaneous ingredients that would simply be too much to list. I had an increase of energy, along with a bit of a heightened alertness level, and this all lasted for around three or so hours. I had jitters and a bit of a crash once the three+ hours was up, and both were kinda surprising. In the end, Endorush Blue Razz Fix looks much more like a supplement than your average energy drink, and while the steep price of $2.99 and the plethora of ingredients imply just that, the actual performance was much more akin to your pedestrian energy drink.

Stacker 2 YJ Stinger Enraged Raspberry Energy Drink Review

Just like Sinful Citrus before it, I had one hell of a time trying to figure out what exactly to call the latest drink I own in the line, but I eventually settled on Stacker 2 YJ Stinger Enraged Raspberry(just rolls right off the tongue doesn't it?). The can uses the same busy and cluttered can of the previous varieties, but the blue actually looks quite nice and tries hard to make the can attractive. The hornet within the middle is detailed to the point where it becomes almost disturbing, and while some drinks will try to look intimidating or aggressive, the insect is just plain scary! But without the bug, I have to say the can would lose some of its uniqueness, however creepy it is.

Stacker 2 Enraged Raspberry tastes initially of a super sickly sweet cotton candy and blue raspberry hybrid, with neither dominating, and the two are listed in order of appearance. Both taste appropriate with the extreme sugariness, but it's still a bit overwhelming. There's a fair tartness level that incompletely bounces between the two flavours, and while it's suitable with the raspberry, it fails to feel as proper with the cotton candy. The tartness consistently mellows between each bounce, and is soon extinguished by a sudden uprising wall of more sweetness. That sweetness has an abbreviate sense of the opening flavours, but the experience quickly closes soon after, bringing about a milder though more unpleasant mineral earthy taste. It remains unobtrusive, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it subtle. The drinks carbonation is fizzy, but unremarkable throughout. Overall, YJ Enraged Raspberry is certainly drinkable and is almost enjoyable. Almost. The flavour is just rather routine and lacks anything to call its own.

Each can contains: caffeine, taurine, guarana, ginseng, and a variety of B vitamins. The buzz I received lasted two hours before I crashed. It was a fairly weak kick too; I didn't feel wholly energized, and I had jitters. In the end, the overall mediocrity of Stacker 2 YJ Stinger Enraged Raspberry accomplishes nothing but explain why it's a regular guest to the shelves of Big Lots.

Jolt Blue Zero Carb Energy Drink Review

Jolt Blue Zero Carb comes in a can using the newly redesigned Jolt logo that, while I honestly prefer over the original look, doesn't have the best balance of colours. The preferences of silver over blue is understandable, given it's zero carb, but I simply don't feel it works. There's more text added since the cans rethinking, and while none of it is beneficial, it never really clutters up the can nor does it distract the consumer from its natural flow.

Smelling of lightly and pleasantly of cotton candy, Jolt Blue Zero Carb pours out a bright yet frosty powdered blue. Taste-wise, the flavour begins with a decent strength cotton candy that has soft underneath notes of a dull blue raspberry. The blue raspberry has a faint tartness that breathes some life into the otherwise boring fruit hint. There's a bit of a blueberry innuendo overall that's confection-like and semi-thick, but soon it's casually deflated in favor of a stronger focus on the cotton candy. Although the all together sweetness does an honorable job mimicking the trademark sugariness of the wool-textured carnival treat, it ultimately falls flat. It lacks a strong presence and is simply too understated to due its inspiration justice. Unlike its sugared counterpart, the liquid itself isn't too thick but instead has a bubbly and vivacious carbonation which gives it an aerated texture and feel in the mouth. There's no sort of bite or anything during the drinks finish, only a slight rise of carbonation wrapped around a synthetic and generic berry taste. Overall, I appreciate Jolt Blue Zero Carb for giving the flavour indication "blue" a different meaning for sugar free energy drinks(as it commonly stands for straight up berry), but this simply isn't the best to ever of used the word.

Jolt Blue Zero Carb gave me a kick decent in length for its twelve oz. size. I had slight jitters, the buzz lasted just under three hours, and it didn't end in a crash. The ingredient cocktail used consists of: caffeine, taurine, ginseng, B vitamins, and guarana. In the end, the marginal success of Jolt Blue Zero Carb shows that the line is in the hands of people that, while they understand energy drinks more thoroughly than the previous owners did, don't quite know how to bring a drink to total and complete success.

Rehab

While I am addicted to caffeine, I doubt I'll ever enter rehab. I enjoy the buzz and the sometimes impressive ways companies are able to hind the caffeine bitterness. I mention this because while at my local Big Lots, along with Xenergy Cran Razz, I found Rehab energy drink. Well, technically it's not considered an energy drink, and instead a recovery supplement. Since it contains caffeine and many other typical energy drink ingredients, I've decided to give it a try. I have absolutely no idea what to expect from Rehab. While it's unlikely that it'll be so addicting that I'll have to check myself into rehab, I do feel that this will be one unique experience.

FIRST IMPRESSION: The can to Rehab that I had was different from the others I've seen, so I figured my can was a shrink wrapped redesign. But to my surprise, the shrink wrap was actually covering a completely different printed design all together. Now, let me ask a perfectly good question, why would they even consider doing such a thing? The shrink wrap design isn't all too different from the inside print can, and I couldn't find any typo's or mistakes on the inside print can, so I have no clue why they covered it. The only real problem with the covered print can is that the text is rather hard to read, but that's certainly no reason to shrink wrap the can. But, if I look past the strange shrink wrap incident, the overall can isn't terrible, and instead rather attractive.

TASTE: I opened the can and took a sip. The flavour starts out a light cotton candy that is mildly sweet. The cotton candy is blended seamlessly with several other flavours, namely cherry and blue berry, and they taste artificial. The whole flavour ends quickly, and the only thing left is a faint cotton candy taste. With only five grams of sugar, Rehab isn't very sweet, which is surprising given that the flavour is very candy-like. The carbonation is faint, creating an almost bubbly sensation. Overall, while not highly complex or intriguing, I really enjoyed drinking Rehab. Its generally fun flavour was surprising and pretty original.

KICK: Each can contains: 120mg of caffeine, green tea extract, Vit B3, B5, B6, B12, panax ginseng, guarana, coenzyme Q10, and catechins. This overall blend isn't as potent as most energy drinks, but since it's not labeled as an energy drink, I really can't complain. For around two or so hours, I felt refreshed, and had a marginal amount of energy. I didn't get any jitters, and I didn't receive a crash once the two+ hours ended.

FINAL WORD: Rehab is not your average drink. It's not exactly labeled as an energy drink, so I can't really criticize it for not having an exceptional kick. I can, however, criticize the nutty shrink wrap can complication. But, that's really all I can be harsh about. The design of the wrap was sufficient, and the taste was satisfying. All in all, my rating of Rehab doesn't matter. I doubt the hard core energy junkie is going to consider Rehab, and I doubt the average consumer will buy it either. Rehab belongs to a niche market, so for the few people who read this review and went "that's the drink for me," then guess what, it probably is...3/5
